Classic Volvo for the Modern Age

I have the pleasure of driving a 2013 Volvo S80 daily. Every time I step behind the wheel, I am enamored with this vehicle. There is something about the timeless, beautiful, stately appearance that this car brings, without being braggadocious. The suspension is softer than other cars I have owned but is extremely comfortable cruising at highway speeds. I owned a 2005 Volvo S40 that I sold and bought a 2013 Acura TL. After about a year and a half with the Acura, I had to part ways and go back to a Volvo. I may be a little biased because Volvo is my favorite car brand, but the trade was well worth it. My car is the 3.2L platinum with the 12-speaker premium audio system, BLIS, navigation, heated seats, active bi-xenon headlamps (move with steering wheel input), lovely supple leather, and real walnut wood trim. Each person that gets into my car makes a comment on how much they like it and how nice it is. I don't own this car because I am trying to impress - I take value in spending my money on items that are well built and reliable. You can tell that this car is crafted with true Swedish pride, which is experienced in the solid craftsmanship throughout. All of the materials are soft-touch - even the lower door pocket is lined with felt! It's this small attention to detail that proves Volvo cares about how their products are received. In terms of performance, this car provides some good pep but is nothing to write home about. You can merge and pass at ease and it does the job, with decent/average fuel economy. I average 20 with the awful city traffic. Overall, if you are looking for a car that provides some uniqueness (as you don't see very many of these vehicles), appreciate quality craftsmanship, a rewarding experience every time you drive, performance is not your main concern, or just want a smile on your face as you walk up to your Trusty Swede awaiting you - this is the car for you.…
